This is my most favorite picture of Gemma! I was rushing out the door and running around the house grabbing last minute things to take with us. I hear Gemma in the entrance way grab her diaper bag, like she often does. She loves to take everything out and put it back in again. Then I hear nothing but silence followed by loud giggles. I walk into the hallway to find Gemma with baby powder in hand, laughing hysterically as she was shaking the opened bottle and powder pours out all over the walls, bench and herself! It was so funny!Seeing as how housekeeping has not been at the top of my list for a while now, I think there were specks of baby powder on the walls and bench for a few days after this! It makes me think of something I never have understood: You often hear people say, "my house is a mess" only to walk inside and think, "This house is more spotless than my house has ever been!" There might be one cup sitting empty on the kitchen counter. However, when I say my house is a mess, it generally means that there are dishes on the kitchen counter from 3 days ago, clothes and toys spread from one end of the house to the other and even a few dead bugs that I have been stepping over for a day or two (I wish I were exaggerating about this) and baby powder on the walls from a week ago. (Yea, I know I said a few days, but honestly I think it stayed there for closer to a week) Oh how I wish I were a neat freak!
Gemma and I took a visit to the pool in Kyllburg with some friends. I snapped this picture while we were there. This little dress fits her personality perfectly, it was a gift from my college roommate, Annemarie. The pigtails are only because I can't help myself! :) Ben's new name for Gemma is 'lil paintbrush because her hair is long enough to hang in her eyes but not full enough to hold most clips, so I always have it in this high little ponytail right on top of her head. Notice the resemblence to a paintbrush in the first picture. Here is Gemma with a few of her friends, Nicole and Katie at the pool. Nicole is such a helpful big sis to Katie and Gemma!

SO CUTE! I, too, cannot resist the little piggie in Lydie biddy's hair! But I have since resisted, because it's making her look too grown up....and it isn't helping that she's only nine mos and walking. She could totally milk babyhood for all it's worth, but she's not, so sad. How are you guys doing?? we're staying another year in c-bus. Kinda sad, kinda not sad...making due! Ben's starting preschool again and we're all excited. That little Gem of yours is sooo cute and I think she looks so much like you, Stacey! what do people tell you...cuz pictures can look different than seeing them in person.
