Morocco

We took the boat across the Strait of Gibralter from Spain to Morocco. We did a 'tour' of the city of Tangier. I use the work tour lightly because anyone who has ever been to an arab country or territory knows that their tours focus more on spending money and showing it off than history or culture. I am glad that I knew that going into the day. That way I was able to embrace the chaos and silliness as our guide ushered us through throngs of street sellers into one rug shop after another while pointing out 5 star hotels along the way! I did break away from the group a bit to snap these photos. This was a local school.

Here was just one of the views from the walk through the old town. The men that you can see are actually snake charmers! They started to charm the snake and then it started to rain so they stopped. Who woulda thought it would rain during my one day to the African desert!

Here is the group of us that went. Jena, Mindy, Kristin, Christy and myself. It was great to have a day to travel without Gemma in her stroller!

A local woman getting water from the pump in the street. I don't know, but I am guessing there aren't too many homes with running water where we were.

A couple of camels that we could ride on for 1 euro. They hop you on and take you in a circle about the size of my kitchen and then ask for tips! I rode a camel when we were in Israel so I passed, but had fun taking pictures of the two girls that did it.
